Mr Wilson's fourth grade reflections voice thread was created to showcase his student's memories of their school year. The students post their favorite memories of the school year. Each student also shares a short audio message about the picture. I would like to use this to have students compile an end of unit cross content study. Students would partner up and summarize through investigation findings, writing, readings and picture what they learned in their assigned content area through out the unit. At the beginning of each new unit groups would change their content area (math, language, science, social studies) to report on. All students would complete their individual work during the unit but they would teach what they learned in a specific content to the class. Students learn from each other. The ending of this thread is done by the teacher, I assume; I encourage you to watch it.
Picture Writing is a showcase of poems and art work written by Mrs. Mattson's third grade class. This voice thread was set up differently than the previous one I mentioned. I had to move through each slide manually. The students art work and poem appears, you hear the student read the poem and you also see icons and hear audio from what I assume is other thread comments about the student's work. I liked the interaction of this thread and would like to use it with my students as a way to showcase to their parents what they are working on.
